AND
Club Founders
In the spring of 1977, a group of people who loved tennis met, in what was then known as the Ateneo, with the idea of promoting this sport in Torrejón, hence the creation of the Torrejón de Ardoz Tennis Club.

Since then, we love what we do, and it shows. With more than 30 years of experience in the sector, we know it like the back of our hand. There are no impossible challenges for us, and we give our all to each of the projects we take on.

About us

We began to work with great enthusiasm, maintaining several and continuous contacts with the representatives of the City Council, until getting them to allow us to found the Torrejón de Ardoz Tennis Club.

The next step was to establish statutes and submit them for approval by the Higher Sports Council and the Spanish Tennis Federation.

Once approved by both organizations, the Torrejón de Ardoz Tennis Club is officially recognized on July 26, 1978.

From that moment on, the efforts were directed towards preparing a sports calendar and attracting members, taking into account that there were no material or financial means available; Thanks to the illusion and efforts of the first Board of Directors, and components of the initial meeting of the Ateneo, the Torrejón de Ardoz Tennis Club begins to take its first steps in the official competitions of the Federation, and those organized by the club at a national level. local.

Work begins with the bases and the result of this is the creation of a youth team in all its categories to be able to participate in the Youth League of the Community of Madrid, among those players the brothers Víctor and Javier Sendín were formed, who was champion of Spain children with the club, Oscar del Amo, Andrés Leiva, Antonio Madroñero etc. At that time our club was one of the first participants from the periphery to play in the youth league,

For quite some time the representation of the club in the youth league of the community of Madrid was limited to one team, today we currently have three, one in the second division and two in the third.

That time passed and today the Torrejón de Ardoz Tennis Club is made up of a broad and participatory mass of members who enjoy tennis thanks to the efforts of previous meetings, and the commitment that the current one has with grassroots tennis. of their schools.

The indoor sports activities of the Club are focused on the Ranking, with more than 80 participants, in the spring championships, patron saint festivities, social, veterans, autumn, and Memorial Cesar Alvarez in its different categories, as well as participation in all the championships de Madrid by teams that the Madrid Tennis Federation celebrates, in its different categories, collaboration and organization with the Municipal Sports Council of Torrejón de Ardoz, with the DEUCO program and other activities.
The Cesar Álvarez Memorial is a national tournament in which players ranked among the top 30 in Spain participate, among many others in the last 5 years the champion has been Tati Rascón.

We also want to highlight our VILLA DE TORREJÓN FEMALE NATIONAL OPEN, in this National Open we have had the pleasure of having and seeing the best national rackets play, among which we can highlight: Conchita Martínez our first champion, Virginia Ruano, Gala León, Elena Salvador , Ana Salas, Angeles Montoliú, Rosa Bielsa, Cristina Torrens, Lucia Halty, Michillo Meguro, Marta Marrero among other players.
